Stop-Loss Order Stop-Loss Order (SL)
An order that triggers a sale (or buy) once the price crosses a specified threshold, to cap losses. एक ऐसा आदेश जो तय price पार होने पर trigger होकर नुक़सान को सीमित करता है।
A stop-loss order lies dormant in the system until the stock's price reaches or breaches a predefined trigger price, at which point it activates as a market or limit order. It is the core tool for limiting downside on a position. If you buy a Nifty 50 stock at ₹500 and place an SL at ₹480, the order fires when the stock hits ₹480, capping your loss at roughly ₹20 per share. On Indian exchanges the SL order has a separate trigger price field that must be set correctly.
Stop-loss order तब तक निष्क्रिय पड़ा रहता है जब तक शेयर की कीमत एक predefined trigger price तक नहीं पहुँच जाती — जैसे ही वह level आता है, यह market या limit order के रूप में activate हो जाता है। यह position पर नुक़सान सीमित करने का सबसे ज़रूरी tool है। अगर आपने कोई Nifty 50 शेयर ₹500 में ख़रीदा और SL ₹480 पर लगाया, तो शेयर ₹480 छूते ही order fire होगा और आपका नुक़सान लगभग ₹20 प्रति शेयर तक सीमित रहेगा। Indian exchanges पर SL order में trigger price का अलग field होता है जिसे सही भरना ज़रूरी है।
