A portfolio is the total set of investments — stocks, mutual funds, bonds, ETFs, gold, and cash — held in a person's demat and linked accounts. Portfolio-level thinking is broader than individual trade analysis: you consider overall exposure to sectors, correlation between holdings, and combined risk. An Indian investor might hold Nifty index fund units, a few direct equity stocks, and a gold ETF on NSE — together these form one portfolio whose blended risk and return should align with the investor's goals and timeline.
