Pivot Points Pivot Points (पिवट पॉइंट्स)

Price levels calculated from the prior period's high, low, and close used as intraday support and resistance.

Pivot points are mathematically derived reference levels used to gauge intraday direction and set support/resistance targets: Pivot (P) = (High + Low + Close) ÷ 3. From P, traders calculate additional levels — R1, R2 (resistance) and S1, S2 (support). NSE intraday traders compute these from the previous day's Nifty or stock data each morning. Price above the pivot is considered bullish for the day; below it is bearish. Pivot zones act as natural targets and stop-loss reference points without requiring any chart pattern interpretation.
