Momentum Momentum (मोमेंटम)
The rate at which a security's price is rising or falling over a given period. किसी security का भाव एक निश्चित अवधि में कितनी तेज़ी से बढ़ या घट रहा है।
Momentum measures the velocity of price change, not just direction: Momentum = Current Close − Close n periods ago. A rising value means acceleration; a falling value means the move is losing steam even if price is still climbing. Traders use indicators like MACD and RSI to track momentum and catch early exhaustion signals. On Nifty intraday charts, strong opening momentum backed by volume is often a cue to hold a trend trade rather than fade it.
