MACD MACD
A trend-following momentum indicator derived from the difference between two EMAs.
MACD (Moving Average Convergence Divergence) subtracts the 26-period EMA from the 12-period EMA to form the MACD line; a 9-period EMA of that line is the signal line: MACD = EMA(12) − EMA(26). The gap between them is plotted as a histogram. Traders on NSE watch for the MACD line crossing above the signal line (bullish) or below it (bearish). Histogram bars growing taller signal strengthening momentum; bars shrinking warn of a slowdown. Divergence between MACD and price is a key reversal clue.
