Lot Size Lot Size

Lot size is the fixed number of units in a single F&O contract — you cannot trade a fraction of a lot. SEBI revises lot sizes to keep contract values within a mandated band: as of 2026, each contract must be worth ₹15–20 lakh (up from the earlier ₹5–10 lakh range). For example, if Nifty trades at 24,000 with a lot size of 75, one contract is worth ₹18 lakh. Larger lot sizes raise the capital required per trade and magnify profits and losses.

Lot size एक single F&O contract में units की वह fixed संख्या है — आप lot के किसी हिस्से में trade नहीं कर सकते। SEBI lot sizes को समय-समय पर revise करता है ताकि contract values एक mandated band में रहें: 2026 तक, हर contract की value ₹15–20 lakh होनी चाहिए (पहले की ₹5–10 lakh range से ज़्यादा)। उदाहरण के लिए, अगर Nifty 24,000 पर हो और lot size 75 हो तो एक contract की value ₹18 lakh बनती है। बड़े lot sizes प्रति trade ज़रूरी capital बढ़ाते हैं और मुनाफ़े-नुक़सान दोनों को बड़ा कर देते हैं।
