Depository Participant Depository Participant (DP)
An intermediary — usually a broker or bank — that opens and manages your demat account. एक intermediary — आमतौर पर broker या बैंक — जो आपका demat account खोलता और manage करता है।
A Depository Participant (DP) is an agent of NSDL or CDSL (or both) authorised to open and service demat accounts for investors. Most stockbrokers and many banks act as DPs. They credit shares after purchases, debit shares when you sell, and process dematerialisation, pledging, and nomination changes on your behalf. The DP charges annual maintenance fees and transaction fees set within limits prescribed by the depositories and SEBI. Changing your DP is possible through an account-transfer process.
