CNC holds shares in your demat account; MIS squares off the position within the same trading day. CNC में शेयर आपके demat account में जमा होते हैं; MIS में position उसी trading day के अंदर square off होती है।
CNC (Cash and Carry) is the delivery product type: shares bought are credited to your demat account and held as long as you wish — settlement happens on a T+1 basis on Indian exchanges. MIS (Margin Intraday Square-off) means the position must be closed on the same day; if you don't close it, the broker auto-squares off before market close. MIS typically requires less capital due to intraday leverage, but carries higher risk. The choice of product type (CNC vs MIS) at order entry determines tax treatment, margin requirements, and whether STT is charged on both sides.
