The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), founded in 1875, is Asia's oldest exchange and the world's fastest in terms of order-processing speed. It lists over 5,000 companies — far more than NSE — and is home to the flagship Sensex index. While NSE dominates F&O volume, BSE is significant for equity delivery trades, SME listings, mutual fund platforms, and currency derivatives. Both exchanges are regulated by SEBI and operate under similar trading hours.
