About the Net Worth Calculator
Net worth is what you own minus what you owe — the clearest single snapshot of your financial position. Tracking it over time shows whether you are truly building wealth, beyond just income.
This calculator adds up your assets (cash, investments, property, vehicles and more) and subtracts your liabilities (loans and other debts) to give your net worth.
Frequently asked questions
How is net worth calculated?
Net Worth = Total Assets − Total Liabilities. Add up everything you own at its current value, subtract everything you owe, and the result is your net worth — which can be positive or negative.
What counts as an asset?
Anything of value you own: bank balances, mutual funds and stocks, EPF/PPF, real estate, gold, and the resale value of vehicles. Use current market values, not what you paid.
What counts as a liability?
Everything you owe: home, car and personal loans, credit-card dues, education loans and any other borrowing. Use the outstanding balance still to be repaid, not the original amount.
Should I use the purchase price or current value for assets?
Current value. A car or property is worth what it would sell for today, not what you paid — using current values keeps your net worth honest.
What is a good net worth?
There is no universal number — it depends on your age, income and goals. More useful than any benchmark is the trend: a net worth that grows year on year shows you are moving in the right direction.
